Regarding the manhole covers... it's so they won't fall into the holes! Corey Nixon, Mia Minter and Brennan Lloyd all figured it out! Brennan said he saw it once on a TV show, and he thought to himself at the time, "When would I EVER need to know this information?" He obviously did not foresee having a crazy math teacher in 6th Grade! LOL!
Logic Puzzle for Friday, March 6: There are 3 lightbulbs in the attic, and three switches for those lights downstairs. You cannot see the switches from the attic, nor the lightbulbs from downstairs. You can switch the switches off and on, but you can only go upstairs once. How can you determine which switch controls which lightbulb?
Logic Puzzle for Friday, March 13: A healthy colony of bacteria is grown in a petri dish. Every minute, each bacterium divides into two. The colony was started at noon. At 12:43 (43 minutes later), the petri dish was half full. At what time will the dish be completely full?

other side. If left alone without the
farmer present, the fox will eat the chicken and the chicken will eat the
feed. The farmer can take only one thing
across the river with him at a time. How
can he safely get all three – the fox, the chicken and the feed -- to the barn on the other side of the river?
